I love April. And NOT just because it is my birthday month. Spring is here. Yes, we still get days where winter says it is not quite ready to go away for good, but… overall the promise of spring is strong. A sense of hope prevails.
Today we have the next giveaway for you. My quilt, Spring Mosaic, is in the new issue of Quiltmaker magazine. It certainly looks like spring with it’s bright blues, greens and yellows against a crisp white background.
I just love this quilt; it is so happy and hopeful.
And just like all the other one block quilts I have been doing for Quiltmaker this year, you can rotate the blocks to change the setting. And if you love the colors too, they have kits. Just click here.
The issue came out on newsstands this week, but in case you don’t have a copy, would you like to win one?
Cool! I have 2 issues to give away. To be entered for a chance to win a copy, leave a comment.
Any old comment will do but you can tell us, if you want, what really makes you happy in spring. Is it the first tulips or daffodils? Is the day the trees all seem to bud out?
Back in CT, there was a house that had the most beautiful weeping cherry trees and I would drive by waiting for the day they were totally in bloom. Then I knew spring was here.
So leave a comment and if you get our newsletter (or sign up for it), leave a second comment for two chances. I will draw two names on Sunday night after 9pm my time (mountain time).
happy quilting,
and happy Spring!

spring is here in N. west Ga.
It is nice to know Spring is coming. We are still waiting here. Just small signs so far, flocks of geese, pussywillows, birds and animals returning.
spring is here for me when the redbuds bloom!
Spring brings warmer temperatures, more daylight and new life for trees, plants and flowers.
I love to see my tulips bloom in the spring, but the bunnies usually get to them before they can even make a bud! And if I’m lucky to have them get that far, the deer eat that part! Last year I tried to enjoy them for a couple days in front of my house. I should have picked them and brought them in . . .

Spring in SW Florida means rainy season……. love the sound of rain when I sew. Beginning to get too hot outside, so more time spending indoors doing what I love….quilting.

So happy that spring is so close – here in South Jersey we keep getting little teaser days of sunshine and warm weather! I get your email newsletters. Thanks so much for the chance to win! Happy Spring!!! 🙂
The best signs of spring is my rhubarb popping up and welcoming the sun. If there is a late snowfall, the rhubarb just takes a break and patiently awaits more sun and warmth. It never gets frozen or ruined, it can grow straight out under a blanket of snow. It gives me promise of early rhubarb pie and sweet rhubarb soup. That’s spring for me!
We don’t have seasons here like the East, so it’s hard to say. I have a Crown of Thorns plant that is blooming like crazy, and avocados are developing on the trees.
I receive your newsletter and enjoy it!
I know spring is here when I see crocus and lily of the valley blooming.
