I have made a couple of easy peasy bags in the last few days. It has been so much fun to do an easy project with instant results!
This bag I made last week for my friend Wendy- we were meeting for lunch and I discovered at the last minute it was her birthday. Sneaky girl
So I had to whip up something fast- and this was it. I knew she would like the Asian-themed fabric since she helped me pick it out for another project.
Isn’t it cute? And she loved it!
Perfect. Win-win.
Today I decided to make a zippered pouch for a local quilt guild exchange. They had some suggestions on a few patterns to use but, of course, I used our pattern, Girls Day Out and made the Martini bag!
I love this bag- the simple paper piecing front adds a little something extra and the handle turns your pouch into an instant “out to the pub for a glass of…” bag.
Just enough room for your cell phone, credit card, lip gloss and keys!
I love these fabrics from Tim Holtz- I only had a few small pieces left from another bag I made but just enough to make this one once I added some Quilter’s Linen from Robert Kaufman. Cute! Now I have to give it away.? Really? Hmm… maybe I should make another one?
Which is cuter- the front of the back?
I also quilted the back a little and then added some decorative stitching to the front- using my trusty Aurifil thread of course. Who doesn’t love Aurifil?
Never thought I would be tooting a thread’s horn, but seriously, my machine sews nicer and quieter with Aurifil thread. Can’t argue with that.
Happy machine means a happy quilter!
happy quilting to you!
