Quilt Market Wrap Up

Wow. What a great few days in Houston at Quilt Market! Well, except for the hurricane and the rain and wind! Other than that, it was spectacular!

Who wouldn’t love going somewhere where you have other quilting friends, lots of inspiration, where you get to see all the newest fabrics, gadgets and gorgeous quilts? Just a blast! I must apologize; I did not take many pictures. Partly because, even after all these years, I just like to walk around and soak it all up.

And then I forget to take pictures.

I did get a few pictures- here is one of Charlotte Angiotti- I took a great class from her. She’s a hoot!

Of course I did take a picture of my quilt in the C&T Publishing booth.

My quilt Log Jam and it’s Alter Ego quilt are on the cover of a new book coming out from C&T Publishing; 75 Fun Fat-Quarter Quilts, a compilation of designs from 14 different designers!

The book won’t be available until Dec but I will start taking preorders soon.

And I took a picture of some of the quilts in the exhibit In Full Bloom. My quilt Gardenesque, from my book Smash Your Precut Stash, was one of the quilts accepted into the exhibit! How cool was that?

Here are some other quilts that were in the exhibit. I loved how they took quilts from different quilting styles, from my pieced, slightly more traditional quilt all the way to gorgeous art quilts. I was so honored to my quilt hanging with these others quilters works.

  1. Your quilt is beautiful! I’m still laughing about the “hurricane”. That was just a little Texas shower! They don’t call us the Bayou City for nothing. I’m please you had a good time in spite of the storm and the construction.

    1. Haha… I know what you mean about it being a “hurricane”. I thought it was just heavy rain until someone told me it was a hurricane. When I am at at Quilt Market I rarely watch the news! The construction made things interesting but all in all, it was great. Always inspiring!
